BIO & INFO
Robert Scott Fitzgerald was born in Seattle Washington and raised in Puget Sound’s Pike Place Market for his first 4 years. His family owned an antique shop just below the fish market and his father was bell captain for the Edgewater Inn. There Robert spent time fishing out the windows at the age of 3. His father was intrigued by the rock n roll bands he tended to during the 60s and enrolled his son into music classes at an early age. Soon after a family move to the country lifestyle of Central Washington, Robert had chosen percussion and drumming for enrolment to school band classes. There a young Robert was enhancing his music with marching bands- jazz quartets - big bands and rudiment drumming. Later these styles were applied to his own rock bands at shows that included headliners like Seattle's local band RAIL. These shows were held at school gyms, roller-skating rinks, county fairs, clubs and open fields in Western and Central Washington. After a band breakup in 1983, Robert relocated to the San Francisco bay area for a new beginning. New and exciting music venues like Wolfgangs, the Keystone Clubs, the Stone, New Georges and Uncle Charlie’s were a driving force of the rock & metal scenes of the 80s. For the bulk of the decade Robert lived and played the bay area music scene and lifestyle. Seeking the Louie Belson - Buddy Rich era of music, he never missed an opportunity to attend clinics of a favorite fusion drummer, Steve Smith of the band Journey, who performed countless street fairs, drum clinics and clubs throughout the bay area. Eventually leaving San Francisco for the smaller city San Rafael in Marin County, Robert set up shop & rehearsals at Hun Sound and the Music Spectrum to begin jams with local club performers. By 1986 Robert was performing with energetic young fusion/rock bassist Rob Fordyce, bassist for Lenny Williams (Tower of Power), John Hartman (The Doobie Brothers) at Uncle Charlie’s Nightclub in Corte Madera California. Playing in the ‘Monday night live slot’, formerly began by Huey Louis and the News gave Robert experience playing sold out shows with S.F. bay area top club acts and musicians. Nightmare management Inc,s Eric Martin, formerly of 415 and current lead vocalist for "Mr. Big" was among the performers sharing the billing at the well known Marin county club. The club was frequented by many of the areas pro musicians residents. After the nightclub’s closing in the late 80s, Robert and some bay area musicians were looking to pursue new music opportunities and relocated to Southern California. Residing in LA's south bay city of Manhattan Beach and Palm Springs Coachella valley, Robert began writing tracks in his new home pre-production recording studio "Fault Line pre-production". The dubious name sprung from the San Andreas Earthquake Fault looming just under a quarter mile away! Robert soon gained more experience setting up gear on local L.A. recording sessions and small shows for local musician “Wolfredo Reyes Jr”, (drummer/percussionist for - Santana – Neal Schon – Jimmy Barnes - Traffic - Steve Winwood - Gloria Estefan - Chicago) and also started co-writing and pre-production recording with talents from Los Angeles and Arizona. Robert's home Fault Line Pre-production studio sessions began in "1994" with cutting edge talents such as Tucson Arizona's lead guitarist Robby Lochner. Robby Lochner formerly of the band "Roc-Lochner" and currently guitarist for Jack Russells "Great White" was fresh off a tour leg with Rob Halford and his band "Fight"! Lochner/Fitzgerald writing sessions at Robert's FaultLine Pre-Production produced high energy & progressive instrumental recordings such as Vigor of Expression. This track was first released on the CD Hottest Unknown Guitarists, a project coordinated by Richard James / JSR Records. The album Hottest Unknown Guitarists with Robby Lochner-Robert Scott Fitzgerald’s "Vigor of Expression" can be found on Guitar-9 Records. It was one of the best local level lead guitarist assembles at the time. Roberts co-writing has also been recorded and performed on the Robby Lochner Debut CD released on Satori Records. Artists on this release include rock/fusion bassist “Barry Sparks” of (Michael Schenker Group, Ted Nugent, Dokken, Cosmosquad, Ingue Malmsteen, Scorpions, BZs). Canadian born fusion/rock drummer “Shane Gaallas” of (Vinnie Moore, Cosmosquad, Michael Schenker Group). L.As “Neal Turbin” (original vocalist of the band Anthrax and of L.A.’s Death Riders). Other recording/writing sessions during the 90s include blazing-metal instrumental tracks in progressive rock with guitarist “Gary Thornton” also of the SoCal metal band Ultra Lord. By the year 2000, Robert relocated to New York and Boston to study at the same schools where some of his favorite musicians in Journey and Dream Theatre had honed their skills. Although eager to experience the East Coast music scenes, his plans changed during the aftermath of 9-11. Several months later the final days of Roberts last living parent required his return to Southern California. Relocated back to the Great Pacific Northwest in the year 2006, Robert Scott Fitzgerald is now eager to embrace the new decades by adding to the extreme (CLASSICAL-SYMPHONIC-METAL) genre !!
